Origin Minera Resources Project Description & Location

The Navrongo Project area lies in northern Ghana near the border with Burkina Faso (Figure 1). It is bordered to the east by tenements of Cardinal Resources (Figure 2). The four concessions (Navrongo South (PL9/48), Navrongo West (PL9/35), Navrongo East (PL9/50), and Chuchiliga) are listed as prospecting licences by the Minerals Commission in Ghana. The concessions are 100% owned by Origin Mineral Resources, cover a total area of 508 km2 , and encompass the city Navrongo (Figure 3). Site access is provided by several major roads and smaller tracks that cut through the concession area.

Regional Geophysical Surveys

Magnetic intensity map (Figure 4), as well as a ternary potassium (K), thorium (Th), uranium (U) map (Figure 5). These maps likely originate from regional airborne surveys carried out from 1994–2006, using 400–500 m line spacing

Markoye Fault Corridor

Multiple Au resources have been discovered near the Markoye Fault Corridor, which include the Youga deposit (0.8 Moz), IAMGOLD Corporation’s Essakane deposit (6.1 Moz Au), Severstal’s Taparko deposit (1.7 Moz Au), Orezone Gold Corporation’s Bombore deposit (3.5 Moz Au) and West African Resources’ Sanbrado Au mine (3.1 Moz Au), some of which are currently being mined (Figure 10). The Navrongo concessions lie along the southern extension of the Markoye Fault System (Figure 10), which is actively explored by a number of prominent explorers, including:
• Golden Rim Resources (Kouri Gold Project);
• Arrow Minerals (Boulsa Gold Project);
• Cardinal Resources (Bongo Project); and
• Vital Metals (Kollo/Nahouri Gold Project).
Vital Metals operated adjacent to the Navrongo concessions in the southern end of Burkina Faso. After a successful auger soil sampling campaign that returned up to 3 ppm Au, Vital Metals followed up with reverse circulation (RC) drilling in 2017 and intersected several subvertical shoots of Au mineralisation (Figure 11).
